Hope + History

The Hope and History presentation includes Malcolm Davis's piece The Slave: Monk Estill, Hasan Davis's piece York Explorer, an intergenerational conversation with Hasan and Malcolm, and audience engagement. Hope and History is designed to be presented in a wide range of settings—from performing arts stages and community centers to outdoor parks and secure facilities.

  • In addition, Hope and History community residencies are available. Residencies range from 3 - 5 days and include the Hope and History theatrical experience, a screening of the documentary Big Medicine, and workshops on leadership, youth voice, and the power of narrative. Additional creative or facilitation offerings can be tailored to the setting and cover a wide range of topics for anyone from youth to professionals. Residencies allow for deeper community engagement and highlight Hasan and Malcolm’s ability to spark change, connection, and personal activation through various modalities.
